Batelco supports 'Nursery Schools Computer Labs'

Batelco, the Kingdoms leading telecommunications company and a major supporter of community programmes, has provided computer equipment to three nursery schools operating under the umbrella of the Children's & Mothers Welfare Society.

The official launch of the Batelco sponsored 'Nursery School Computer Labs' programme was attended by Shaikha Hind bin Salman Al Khalifa and Shaikha Aisha bin Salman Al Khalifa. Also in attendance at the event which took place at one of the schools - Isa Town Nursery School, were Batelco Chief Executive Peter Kaliaropoulos and representatives from the Ministry of Education. The other two schools which are benefitting are Riffa Nursery school and Hamad Town Nursery School.

Under the scheme, the three nursery schools were completely redesigned at Batelco's expense and equipped with computers, including the appropriate software to enhance the educational process from the first stage of learning.

'Batelco is a major supporter of educational programmes in the Bahraini community and extends financial assistance to establishments catering to all ages from nursery through university,'



said Mr. Kaliaropoulos.

'We believe it is vital to offer the best start to children as that sews the seeds for a lifetime of learning. By contributing to the education of children of all ages in the Bahraini community, Batelco is helping shape the destiny of the Kingdom's future industry leaders,' he added.

Batelco is also a major supporter of HM King Hamad's Schools of the Future project with a commitment of BD1.5m and in addition, the Company is also committed to the Crown Prince Scholarship for Excellence, a superb initiative to develop the qualifications and skills of Bahrain's brightest students at leading international universities.
