Ten of the world's fastest production cars will make their presence felt at the 9th edition of show, which will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 14-18 November.
"Motor enthusiasts will see the best in performance, technology and design. We are delighted that the Dubai Motor Show once again will be the first to introduce many of these vehicles to the Middle East markets,"
said Mr. Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai World Trade Centre, the show's organiser.
The leader of the pack will be the Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo from Shelby Supercars, which recently screamed into the Guinness Book of World RecordsTM as the fastest production car in the world.
This custom-built supercar clocked a scorching 413 kmph at a test site in Washington, comfortably blowing away all previous records. The Dubai Motor Show will be the first time the Aero will be on public display since breaking the world record.
Former title holder the Bugatti Veyron 16/4 which held the crown for 2 years, with a top speed of 407 kmph, is just behind. Touching 0 to 100 kmph in an unbelievable 2.5 seconds, it is even faster than the Ultimate Aero.
The Koenigsegg CCX rounds off the top three at the show. Over the last few months, the Koenigsegg CCX was awarded the Sportscar of the Year title, and set a new lap record on BBC's popular Top Gear show.
If there is one name that still inspires awe amongst its peers, be it on the race tracks or on the streets, it's the Ferrari. Designed as a tribute to its legendary founder, the Ferrari Enzo is the most powerful naturally aspirated production car in the world, and will be a part of Dubai Motor Show 2007.
Speaking of legendary names, the show will also host the Pagani Zonda, designed by one of Formula One's all time greats, Juan Manuel Fangio. This limited production coupe is a beloved favourite amongst motor enthusiasts across the world. The Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 was introduced as the successor to Lamborghini's legendary Diablo a former World Reward Holder.
Despite its raw power and breathtaking speeds the LP640 is a style speedster's dream, and there will be many visitors at the show picturing themselves behind the wheel of this beauty as they cruise down Dubai's streets.
The Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren first shot into the history books in July last year by setting London's first land speed record. Combining the remarkable engineering skills of Mercedes and the construction expertise of McLaren, the SLR is often referred to as the most complete super sports car.
The Ford GT was initially introduced as a concept car in 2002, and soon took its place among the pantheon of great cars produced by Ford that went on to become America's favourites.
Then there's the Porsche which has a long standing love affair with the region as one of the most preferred supercars and the new Porsche 911 GT2, the most powerful 911 ever designed for road use, will add to the glamour quotient at the show.
Concept cars have never been too far behind the established sultans of speed, and rounding off this power packed group will be the revolutionary KTM X-Bow. Weighing just 700 kilos and clocking 0 to 100 kmph in 3.9 seconds flat, the X-Bow offers the driver the immediacy of a power motorcycle ride within the comfort of a car.
Over 90,000 visitors are expected to attend the Middle East International Motor Show 2007, and with these awesome thoroughbred machines on display, every one will be taking back some unforgettable, memories of this spectacular event.
The Dubai Motor Show always supports care and safety on the roads at all times. In Hall 2 there will be a programme highlighting safe driving presented by Emirates Motor Sport Federation.
