Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar holds networking and recruitment event

To give companies an opportunity to meet and network with upcoming graduates, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar held Connections 'Networking and Recruitment' reception, which brought together more than 30 local companies that are looking for new talent and for Carnegie Mellon students who will be graduating in the spring.
By holding events such as the Connections networking event, Carnegie Mellon Qatar assists organizations with the task of finding, interviewing and selecting the right talent for available positions. The event also allows students to see the array of opportunities available to them upon graduation in May. Seniors in the Business Administration and Computer Science programs came to the event with CVs in hand and industry representatives came ready to ask questions and talk about their corporate mission.
Some of the participating companies were: Cisco, ConocoPhillips, Shell, General Electric, Exxon Mobile, Dolphin Energy, Ras Gas, Qatar Gas, Qatar Petroleum, Microsoft, QSTP and client members, iHorizons, Commercial Bank, HSBC Bank, Doha Bank, IBQ Bank, KPMG, Deloitte, Standard Chartered, Qatar Financial Center, Qatar Regulatory Authority, SIDRA, Q-Tel, Q-Cert, Nestle, Occidental, Total, HP and QIB.
"This event is one of the ways Carnegie Mellon contributes toward the vision and mission set forth by Qatar Foundation, which is that a nation's greatest natural resources is its people," says Dualeh. "We prepare our students to take on leading roles in the business community. And by working closely with businesses and organizations we can ensure that our graduates are matched with positions that best align with their career goals and positively contribute to the knowledge-based economy of Qatar."
The event, which is part of the larger Connections internship program, was held in the Al Aqool Atrium in the Recreation Center on the Education City campus. Dualeh expects the event to be held annually henceforth.
