The involvement is part of the efforts to highlight the upcoming DSF 2008 and promote the festival as one among the world's leading shopping and family entertainment events to a wider global audience. This is the first time that the DSF Office is participating as an independent exhibitor, thus giving it more exposure in the international tourism arena.

The DSF delegation to London will comprise of Laila Suhail, Chief Strategy Officer for DSF; Khulood Al Thani, DSF Marketing Manager; and Haitham Al Bousaide, DSF Media Relations Coordinator. While DSF 2008 will be the main objective of the DSF Office's participation, Dubai Summer Surprises 2008 will also feature prominently during the four-day participation where visitors from around the world will have, for the first time, the opportunity to meet Modhesh, the ever-smiling mascot of DSS.

Laila Suhail said,

"Dubai Shopping Festival is one of the finest shopping and family entertainment festivals in the world today and World Travel Market 2007 provides us with the ideal platform to communicate the characteristics of DSF to key travel and tourism industry players. Our decision to include DSS 2008 was taken considering the changes in the global tourism where tourists plan their holidays far in advance. It is also an indication of the DSF Office's ability to respond and act according to the dynamic nature of the global tourism market."

"Our involvement with one of the leading exhibitions that attracted over 45,000 participants last year signifies our desire to align ourselves with the best industry resources and work towards attracting a higher number of visitors to experience one of the finest events in the world today."

As part of an aggressive promotional strategy, another delegation from the DSF Office will also head to the GCC on November 13 for a two-week road show aimed at promoting DSF 2008 in the region. Apart from these, the Office was also actively involved in travel exhibitions held in Japan and Russia recently. The participation in international and regional travel and tourism fairs is distinctive of the new strategy adopted by the DSF Office in attracting a multi-cultural and multi-national audience from around the world to Dubai in general and to DSF and DSS in particular.

World Travel Market is a business to business exhibition that was initiated to bring together the world's various destinations on to one platform. The event provides a unique opportunity for the whole global travel trade industry to meet, network, negotiate, conduct business and stay abreast with the latest developments in the travel industry.
