Stride for Life with Polar

Stride for Life has secured the support of Polar for the launch of "21 Novices, 21.1km". The initiative will take 21 people, who have never run long distances before, and train them for the R.A.K. International Half Marathon on 8 February 2008.

Using the combined knowledge of Stride For Life founder Deborah Dixon and Polars unique training tool, participants will go on a transformational journey physically, mentally and emotionally as they commit to the training program, support each other, and adjust their lives in order to reach the finish line.

Polar has supplied the team with heart rate monitors from the RS running range. The monitors have been adapted especially for planning, monitoring and analyzing running for goal orientated runners at any level.

Depending on the model, each RS heart rate monitor includes a variety of running-specific features together with all the essential heart rate functions to turn training into action. The running computers also come with the Polar S1 foot pod for detailed speed/pace and distance tracking.
