DubaiSat-1 international specialists and local talents participate at the Dubai AirShow 2007

Sungdong Park, CEO and President, Satrec Initiative, will join Ahmed Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of the EIAST, to discuss the final stages of the first phase of DubaiSat-1 during this year's edition of the Dubai AirShow on 11 to 15th November.

The South Korean producer of small satellite solutions is designing and manufacturing DubaiSat-1, a remote sensing satellite which will provide the UAE with a valuable source of info to support the country's numerous development plans. The company is also hosting a team of young national engineers who are participating in the different stages of the development of the satellite.

DubaiSat-1 will be launched on a Dnepr rocket through Moscow-based launching company, International Space Company (ISC) Kosmotras which has a long history of successful and accurate positioning operations of similar types of satellites in their orbits using state-of-the-art technologies.

The satellite will then capture images of the face of the earth and transmit them to the ground station that is currently being built in Dubai by ViaSat, a US-based producer of innovative satellite and other wireless communication products including satellite networks and antenna systems to enable fast, secure, and efficient communications to any location.

Our engineers are working under the supervision of the internationally reputed space technology experts at Satrec Initiative by participating in the design and manufacturing of the satellite. The satellite will support the decision makers particularly in areas of infrastructural development, long-term urban planning, management of natural disasters, and scientific and space research and development.
