Roel will lead the aviation team from the company's Dubai headquarters and will be responsible for all business development and project work. Roel brings a wealth of industry experience, having worked in the aviation sector for more than 20 years. He has been with ESR Technology since 1998 as a Principal Consultant and latterly heading the Aviation Business Development Unit.
Giving details of Roel's appointment, the company's Chief Operating Officer Don Macinnes said:
"The aviation sector in the Middle East is undergoing massive expansion and ESR Technology can play an important role in managing that growth. We are entirely independent from the construction industry, airports and governments and good aviation management during development is imperative anywhere in the world."
"ESR Technology is growing strongly its Middle East business in aviation and aviation safety. The appointment of someone as experienced as Roel is a major step in the growth of the company."
Roel trained as an aeronautical engineer at Haarlem Polytechnic in the Netherlands. After graduating in 1981, he began a 15 year career at Fokker Aircraft. In 1998, Roel completed an MBA degree at the University of Brighton in the UK. From there he joined the safety and risk management organisation that became ESR Technology in 2005.
