Zayani Motors welcomes President of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) to Bahrain

Mr. Masuko's visit to Bahrain comes as part of his on-going tour in the GCC visiting various Mitsubishi dealers throughout the region.

Present at the event was Mr. Khalid Rashid Al Zayani, Chairman of AZI Group, Zayani Motors Managing Director, Mr. Nawaf Al Zayani along with the ZM management team and various media representatives.

Osamu Masuko has been a Mitsubishi veteran for the past 35 years and from January 2005 took over as Mitsubishi's President and Chief Operating Officer; the man responsible for taking Mitsubishi back on track on its successful path to profitability.

Mitsubishi Motors is now Japan's fastest-growing car exporter. After a few difficult years, now comes the turnaround.

A three-year Mitsubishi Motors Revitalization business plan, introduced by Mr. Masuko, coupled with a string of hot new models, with the new Outlander and Lancer EX leading the way, has seen Mitsubishi undergo the classic product-led recovery.

'The plan commenced on January 28, 2005 which continued through to 2006 and 2007. Our plan was to embark on changing the cultural and corporate structure of MMC and side-by-side work towards recovering trust and improving our business. This year is the last year of the plan,' explained Mr. Masuko.

At the event, Mr. Masuko also discussed the importance and growth in the automobile sector in the GCC markets, especially in Bahrain where the demand for Mitsubishi cars has grown rapidly.

'We at MMC are looking forward to introducing Mitsubishi's all-new models like Lancer Evolution, Eclipse, and successor of Nativa into GCC market next year for further strengthening the model line-up. We are confident that this will further enhance our brand presence in the market with these new products, and of course, with Zayani Motors' aggressive and professional marketing activities,' Mr. Masuko further added.

'This is my first visit to Bahrain and I would like to thank Zayani Motors and the people of Bahrain for their kind hospitality and support they have given the Mitsubishi brand name. I wish to personally congratulate and appreciate all those at Zayani Motors who have helped us to scale to such heights,' said Mr. Masuko.
