MotorCity is a development based on a unique automobile and motor sport theme that includes residential, business, sports and leisure opportunities.

"With a development like MotorCity, our aim is to enhance and increase the interest of motor sport in UAE and the region for motor sport and race enthusiasts and create a regional hub for the automobile sector,"

said Simon E. Azzam, CEO, UP." "In a place like MotorCity, individuals can develop the necessary motor racing skills with the right resources, learn about the various sports and have the accessibility to world class facilities in addition to having the opportunity to live, work or be entertained within the same vicinity."

MotorCity is 'a city within a city' that includes five project components: Dubai Autodrome that caters to motor sport and race enthusiasts; F1 Theme Park in Dubai, an edutainment destination that targets the entire family; Business Park MotorCity that is set to be the regional hub for the automobile industry and businesses; and two residential areas, UPTOWN MotorCity and Green Community MotorCity that offer home owners freehold properties ranging from studios, one, two and three bedroom apartments, townhouses, family villas, bungalows and luxury villas. Every component within MotorCity represents a brand that can be recreated worldwide.

"This is our third participation at the Dubai Motor Show, it provides us with direct access to the automobile sector, as well as to the motor sport aficionados who will all have the opportunity to be familiar with MotorCity and understand the diversity of development's residential, business and leisure components," added Azzam.

In November 2006, UP was granted rights to develop F1 theme parks around the world starting with the $460m F1 Theme Park in Dubai. Developed by UP in conjunction with Formula One Administration Limited, the F1 Theme Park in Dubai will be a visionary and permanent theme park offering unparalleled access to the world's most popular annual sporting series and feature state-of-the-art fun and entertainment facilities for all ages, all 'under one roof'. The 300,000 square metres development will ensure that everyone feels the exhilarating thrill of the Formula 1 brand experience.

"Work on F1 Theme Park in Dubai is progressing at great speed, the major rides have been contracted and will be manufactured using the strictest engineering standards available and all with F1 racing as an inspiration," said Azzam. "The rides will feature unique detail and will deliver the most authentic F1 experience for race and Roller Coaster lovers alike. The experience will be enhanced with fully themed structures, water features and themed landscaping, not to mention many interactive zones for an entire family."
