Al Jaber Group takes wings with Dhs1.1bn Embraer deal to buy seven aircraft

Al Jaber Group has signed an Dhs1.1bn deal with Embraer, one of the world's largest manufacturers of commercial jets, to purchase seven aircraft that will power Al Jaber's private jet service.

Mr Obeid Al Jaber, Chairman, Al Jaber Group, and Mr Luis Carlos Affonso, Embraer Executive Vice President Executive Aviation, announced the deal at the 2007 Dubai Air Show, today. As per the deal, Embraer will provide five Lineage 1000 and two Legacy 600 to Al Jaber Group, which will use the aircraft for on-demand charter. Al Jaber has also placed options on two more Lineage 1000 and one Legacy 600.

Mr Al Jaber said:

Embraer has a sterling reputation and our partnership reiterates our commitment to making a difference in the private jet service sector of the region."


Mr. Mohamed Al Jaber, CEO of Al Jaber Group, added: "Our decision to partner with Embraer was taken after a detailed study, market analysis and aircraft assessment. With the Legacy 600 and the new Lineage 1000, Al Jaber Group can bring in a new level of world-class service to the region."

Luis Carlos Affonso, Embraer Executive Vice President Executive Aviation, said: "This is the largest single order for Embraer executive jets in the Middle East region, and is a strong indication that our products are perfectly responding to the customer expectations in this market. This market is a very demanding one where the customers usually place a strong emphasis on value for money. We are thus specially happy and proud of the confidence Al Jaber Group has placed on us by ordering such a large number of aircraft."

Al Jaber Group will take delivery of its first Legacy 600 during the first half of 2009. The first Lineage 1000 will follow during the first half of 2010.

Al Jaber's private aviation services will meet the demanding requirements of dignitaries, VIPs and top business executives through an array of personalised services. The key differentiators of Al Jaber's aviation services are the modern fleet of aircraft that the division operates and the superb levels of service to be guaranteed through world-class professionals.
