RTA's buses transport visitors and participants of Dubai Air Show 2007

The bus service launched by the Public Transport Agency of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to shuttle between the University of Zayed and the location of the Dubai Air Show 2007 at Dubai International Airport Terminal (1) since the first day of the exhibition attracted a large segment of visitors.
Engineer Essa Abdul Rahman Al Dossari, CEO of the Public Transport Agency of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that the Agency seeks through this initiative to effectively contribute to this event, which brings together major companies and corporations specialized in the global military and civil aviation industry technologies under one roof.
This is done through the provision of the best mobility services for the visitors and participants in this important event that is held every two years, by providing practical solutions that are bound to upgrade and expand these services in line with the status of Dubai as a global trading center, as well as the good international reputation the Emirate is enjoying in the organization of exhibitions and conferences.
The buses will be modern, sophisticated and high-quality, the RTA has recently purchased from the finest global origins as part of its (Bus Master Plan) to develop the work of public buses. They are designed to meet the requirements and specifications of the service, through the use of advanced techniques in conformity with the world's highest criteria used in this vital area of public transportation sector.
"This step comes within the framework of the strategic plan drawn up by the RTA for the evolvement of public transport in Dubai to attract additional commuters so as to reduce the traffic jams on the roads and streets during the grand exhibitions and events such as the Dubai Air Show.
Through the RTA's keenness and tireless efforts to broaden this pivotal service, it aims to raise the proportion of trips made by the public transport modes through the provision of transportation alternatives characterized by high-quality, cost-effectiveness, overall geographic coverage and competitiveness with private vehicles.
This is in addition to raise the awareness among the public and change the prevailing social view over the use of public transport and to accomplish an integrated system in its all modes including the buses, Metro and marine transport," said Al Dossari.
He expected that this addition would constitute an added-value that is bound to develop the level of services provided for the growing numbers of visitors and participants in the Dubai Air Show 2007, and other specialized fairs and exhibitions that orchestrates with the population growth, urban expansion and the increased response by the participants and visitors coming down to Dubai to attend various exhibitions, conferences, activities and events in all sectors and fields.
It also addresses the development of traffic movement and encourage all social cross-sections to use this service and quit the use of private vehicles to move to and from the Exhibitions Center, which would undoubtedly alleviate the traffic jams, especially during the morning and evening peak hours.
