ENDP partners with Takamul to help UAE Nationals find jobs in private sector

The Emirates National Development Programme (ENDP), today announced its partnership with Takamul, the apex body for people with special needs, to support UAE nationals find suitable jobs in the private sector.

The partnership reflects ENDP's strategy to persuade the private sector on the benefits of employing UAE nationals, including those with special needs.

Azzah Al Sharhan, Director of ENDP, said: "We are committed to empowering the UAE nationals. We look forward to training people with special needs and providing them with industry specific skill sets. In doing this, we will increase their chances of joining companies in the private sector.

"ENDP firmly believes people with special needs possess talents that can be nurtured through focused programmes. The knowledge and competencies acquired will help them develop a career, and contribute more to the society."

At present, ENDP implements various human resource initiatives to equip young UAE nationals with the necessary expertise in different industry sectors. In addition, it has entered into partnerships with various government organizations as well as private sector enterprises to train UAE nationals and support their professional growth.

Dr. Haidar Al Yousuf, Executive Director of Takamul, said: "Takamul is a system level intervention that aims to empower existing systems with the tools needed to serve people with special needs. With its credible track record and noble aspirations, ENDP is the perfect partner for this lofty initiative.

"Our alliance with ENDP is the best step forward in the spirit of inclusion for people with disabilities. The partnership will provide these UAE nationals further opportunities to prove their capabilities as competent professionals."

Operational since 2006, Takamul is the first initiative in the Middle East to apply comprehensive and wide-ranging strategies, based on global best practices, to support people with special needs.
