Welcare Clinic Qusais was inaugurated today by Qadhi S. Al Murooshid, Director General, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), who called the opening a key step in Dubai's efforts to reach parity with the US and other developed healthcare markets.

The new clinic, the latest in a line of facilities recently launched by Welcare World will provide local families with multi-specialty care in such areas as ophthalmology, dentistry, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, ENT, orthopedics, internal medicine and family medicine.

"The walk-in clinic", said Welcare World CEO James Patla, "aims to extend the company's successful combination of world-class expertise and technology with compassionate, attentive care, a model that has seen Welcare expand its services across the region, including the recent opening of a clinic in Oman, an upcoming clinic in Mirdiff and a hospital in Dubai Healthcare City."

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Al Murooshid said, "DHA is committed to providing the best and most current healthcare options to the people of Dubai and our partnerships with such private institutions as Welcare World play a vital role in achieving this end."

He added, "The number of world-class facilities in Dubai are growing at a rapid rate, and we see the opening of a first-rate clinic like Welcare Qusais as a key step in our drive to develop a healthcare market that is in line with the best in the world."

To celebrate its inauguration, Qusais Clinic will host an Open Day on Saturday, November 17, during which the public can receive free check-ups, including blood pressure, blood sugar screenings and measurement of Body Mass Index. The event is intended to inform people of the importance of preventative care and to familiarize them with the clinic's facilities and services.

"The Qusais area has an estimated population of 65,440, with 100,000 in the surrounding area," Mr. James Patla said. "The Qusais clinic aims to provide these people with convenient access to the best in ethical, evidence-based medicine. In terms of Dubai's ongoing development, I can't think of an area more important than the quality and availability of medical care, and this new clinic is a big step in the right direction."
