DM and Defence Ministry discuss closer cooperation

A meeting between the Military Survey Department of the Ministry of Defence and the Coastal Management Section in Dubai Municipality on Monday discussed closer cooperation and more exchange of survey data and expertise.

Eng. Alia AbdulRahim Abdullah, Head of the Coastal Management Section received at her office the Military Survey Department delegation headed by Dr. Adel Al Shamsi, Head of its Geodesy Department.

The meeting discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between both the sides, especially regarding the Lidar Survey, which is being conducted by the Coastal Management Section on Dubai coast. The Section offered to exchange the marine data attained from this survey with the Military Survey Department.

Both the sides expressed their readiness to exchange any information or data attained by them through the surveys they will conduct on Dubai coast in the future.

The Coastal Management Section also agreed to start a study aimed at exploring possibilities of signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Military Survey Department on matters related to surveys.
