Tejari launches in Saudi Arabia

Dr Hashim bin Abdullah bin Hashim Al-Yamani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Eng. Mohamed Jamil Ahmed Mulla Minister of Communications and Information Technology inaugurated Tejari Saudi Arabia on 7th November 2007 in a reception that was held in Prince Sultan Hall in Al Faisaliah Hotel.

Several prominent businessmen attended the reception.

The Chairman of the Executive Board of Tejari Saudi Arabia, Mr. Abdulrahman Mazi explained, "Tejari Saudi Arabia is being created specifically to enable both the private and government sectors in the country to realize the business benefits facilitated by online procurement, including dramatic cost savings, greater efficiencies, and enhanced market reach." He went on to say, "We aim to achieve this by activating the latest editions and innovations in the various components of technology and communication."

Mr. Abdulrahman Mazi stressed, "Tejari Saudi Arabia is supported by excellent technologies, expertise, and financial resources. Our franchise with Tejari U.A.E, a leading company in e-marketing in the region, and our partnerships with several prominent Saudi companies such as Saudi Telecommunications Company, Technology Investments Company, and National Company for Information Systems add boundless support to our venture in the Kingdom. In addition, our application of Oracle's latest editions specifically its ERP program add weight to our undertaking, bearing in mind that Oracle is the largest enterprise software company in the world."

Mr. Omar Hijazi, CEO of Tejari in UAE explained that Tejari was established in 2000 by Dubai Corporate Group as part of the strategic initiative of Dubai Ruler, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The company's first CEO was Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, UAE Minister of Economy and Planning. Mr. Omar Hijazi said,

"After seven years of incessant success, Tejari is one of the leading companies in the Middle East, Africa, and West Asia in E-marketing in both the public and private sectors. As the only platform that supports the Arabic language, it has updated this platform and raised its capacity to 100,000 clients that are supported by a team of experts in 12 countries."


The CEO of Tejari Saudi Arabia, Mr. Walid Bin Hamad Al Harkan said, "The inauguration of the company in Saudi Arabia is an important advancement because Saudi Arabia has the largest e-market in the Middle East, Africa, and West Asia. He went on to say, "We are expecting to innovate e-marketing in the Kingdom by providing wonderful benefits to our clients starting through online procurement in all its stages from raw materials' suppliers, to contractors and entrepreneurs, and to retailers and wholesalers by opening new and intelligent markets through non-traditional ways. These intelligent markets will instantly satisfy increasing clientele needs at more competitive global prices by eliminating middlemen. Suppliers' and producers' profit margins will also increase. Clients will also receive better services within a shorter time span and avoid the hassle of prolonged government regulations.
