These hotly awaited additions arrive as Porsche prepares for another active year in 2008.

Taking pride of place on the Porsche stand will be the new 911 GT2 and Cayenne GTS, alongside such well-known models as the Boxster, Cayman S, 911 Turbo Cabriolet, Carrera S and the Cayenne Turbo.

Also on display, and bound to create massive interest at the region's premier motor show, will be the Cayenne Transsyberia, a limited edition series that is based on the vehicle that completed 7,100 kilometres in one of the world's most gruelling rallies.

Explaining how Porsche is set to reinforce its position in the region as the leading manufacturer of sports vehicles, Deesch Papke, Managing Director of Porsche Middle East & Africa, says 2008 will be a pivotal time for Porsche in this region: 'Over the past five years we have enjoyed exponential growth based on an excellent product range and committed partners. Our relentless striving to perfection is the secret to our growth; and this, coupled with the tireless efforts of our importers, bodes very well for the years to come.'

Porsche has enjoyed its fifth successive year of double-digit growth in the Middle East & Africa. Overall, sales results have recorded 5,330 deliveries in the 2006/7 period compared with 4,419 units the year before; an impressive 20% increase.

This past year has been particularly busy, with the arrival of the 911 Targa to the market, alongside the second generation Cayenne.

The 20-year tradition within the 911 series of having the 911 Turbo with a classic soft-top has been continued with the new 911 Turbo Cabriolet, one of the world's most iconic cars. This model brings to the table even greater fuel economy and further enhanced engine technology.

And to top it all, the legendary 911 Turbo won Autocar magazine's prestigious Car of the Year title, alongside the Best Exotic Car category award.

Coming to the Middle East & Africa in 2008 will be the celebrated 911 GT2, the fastest and most powerful Porsche designed for road use, with a top speed of 329 km/h. This is the new top performer in the 911 model series. Through its striking design, with extra-large air intake scoops at the front and the characteristic rear wing, the GT2 series clearly demonstrates its supercar performance right from the start. This supreme 911 accelerates to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, making the most of its maximum output of 530 bhp (390 kW) from a 3.6-litre boxer engine. Peak torque is 680 Newton-metres (501 lb-ft) maintained consistently over a wide speed range between 2,200 and 4,500 rpm.

Alongside the highly anticipated launch of the 911 GT2 will be the arrival in the region of the Cayenne GTS, a particularly sporting version of Porsche's performance SUV. The GTS stands out through its bespoke chassis and suspension, while a 4.8-litre V8 powerplant generates a massive output of 405 bhp (298 kW) to make it a phenomenally quick off-roader deserving of the Porsche badge.

The 911 GT2 and Cayenne GTS will be released to the Middle East and African market at the start of 2008.
