Etisalat customers join to show that Dubai Cares

Etisalat has unveiled details of its successful participation in the Dubai Cares campaign, which has enabled all its mobile customers to use SMS codes to make their donations without any other fees.

Etisalat customers who used this facility to make their charitable contribution together raised more than Dhs4.8m for Dubai Cares. The total contribution from Etisalat and its customers has crossed Dhs29.8m, when including the Dhs25m donated by Etisalat towards the campaign

Mohamed Khalfan Al Qamzi, CEO, Etisalat, said: "Etisalat is proud to be not only a participant in the Dubai Cares fundraising campaign, but also a partner and facilitator, enabling our mobile customers to make their donation towards the humanitarian campaign from the convenience of their mobile phone. Our SMS short codes according to the amount to be contributed have proven to be popular, and our customers across the UAE have responded positively by together raising more than Dhs4.8m to show that Dubai Cares."

The SMS facility from Etisalat is an easy process, and fully secured to ensure that customers can safely contribute to the Dubai Cares campaign. As Etisalat covers 100% of the UAE with its mobile network, and with over 6.3 million mobile customers, Etisalat has enabled each of its customers and the residents of the UAE with the ability to be a part of the Dubai Cares campaign from wherever they are in the nation, even when on the move.

"This campaign underlines the vision and initiative of our leaders and it is because of such outreach programmes that the UAE has grown in stature worldwide", he added.

Dubai Cares is the latest in a line of international initiatives that express Dubai's willingness to play an effective role in securing a better tomorrow for future generations. The campaign is Dubai's contribution to a global drive to help countries achieve their UN Millennium Development Goals of providing primary education to every child by 2015.
