For the third consecutive year, Dubai Holding is the official supporter of the UAE national football team as part of its 'Go Whites' initiative. The visit endorsed Dubai Holding's commitment to promote sport among young people and add meaningful value to the society.
Beit El Khair's youngsters enthusiastically welcomed football favourites Saeed Al Kas and Nawwaf Mubarak, who were accompanied by representatives from Dubai Holding, the UAE Football Association (UAE FA) and Beit El Khair. During their visit, the players distributed autographed T-shirts to the children.
Khalid Al Shafar, Marketing Manager, Dubai Holding said: 'Visits such as these reflect our commitment to building sustainable relationships with young people and charitable organisations. It marked another vital step towards achieving our mission - 'for the good of tomorrow'.
'We believe sport plays a key role in moulding young minds as it encourages team spirit while developing competitive capabilities. Sport is also essentially a binding factor that cements various strands of society. These footballers with their talent and achievements truly represent the values that Dubai Holding upholds in all its operations. As leaders in innovation, we are keen to play a pivotal role in the lives of these children and encourage them to be active and socially responsible citizens.'
During the visit, the two team members shared their on-field experiences. Children also learned how the players achieved their dreams with the support of the government, their families and the society.
Nadim Nassar, Marketing Manager, UAE FA said: 'We are privileged to participate with Dubai Holding in its efforts to promote a robust community and support this all-time favourite sport. As leading sportspersons, it is also our responsibility to contribute to the overall growth of these children. Dubai Holding's initiative gave us an opportunity to carry out this social endeavour.
'We are also looking forward to inviting the Beit El Khair children to witness the UAE's qualifying match for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. We will provide tickets, transportation and refreshments for the game that will be held in the UAE. We are sure the children will enjoy the excitement of the decider game'
Earlier this year Dubai Holding contributed over Dhs100m to charitable causes, including Beit El Khair.
With resources and capabilities to implement projects that initiate social change, the Dubai Holding charter ensures that its corporate guiding principles of integrity, innovation, excellence, loyalty and retaining talent are applied to its social responsibility agenda as well.
