New Rolls-Royce is 'Convertible of the Year'
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, November 15 - 2007 at 11:10
- PRESS RELEASE
The automotive magazine CAR Middle East announced yesterday during a gala event at the Dubai Creek Golf Club that the new Phantom Drophead Coupé has been awarded the honour of 'Convertible of the Year'.
"We are absolutely delighted to receive this prestigious award," commented Axel Obermüller, "This latest addition to the Rolls-Royce line-up has been warmly received all over the world and we are seeing unprecedented demand for all our products at the moment. The Middle East has been a crucially important region for Rolls-Royce for many decades and so it is particularly appreciated to receive such a special award in this region."
The Phantom Drophead Coupé is a two-door, four-seater convertible combining the latest in light-weight engineering technology with the finest hand-crafted materials. It features several unique design options, such as a stainless steel bonnet and teak decking - inspired by sailing yachts.
Each car is individually built by highly skilled craftsmen and women at the company's world headquarters in Goodwood, on the south coast of England. The Phantom Drophead Coupé offers owners an unparalleled convertible experience, combining compelling driveability with exceptional engineering.
Rolls-Royce now has a three-model line-up, as the new Drophead Coupé joins the Phantom and Phantom Extended Wheelbase. The Phantom remains the best-selling super luxury car in the world, with sales in 2007 reaching new heights.
A coupé as an additional member of the Phantom family was recently confirmed for 2008. A new Rolls-Royce model, priced slightly below the Phantom, will be launched around the turn of the decade.
