Held from 12th - 15th December 2007 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, the Fair will showcase priceless works of arts and antiquities from the world's leading galleries and is expected to attract connoisseurs and collectors from all over the world.
'We are extremely pleased to sign this MoU with the Dubai International Fine Art and Antiques Fair. As avid supporters of all art and cultural activities in Dubai, this memorandum confirms the Dubai Culture Council's support for this fair as an important platform for the art and antiques industry,' says Dr. Salah Al Qassim, Secretary General of Dubai Cultural Council.
'We are especially happy with the number of local galleries participating in the Fair. This fair presents the perfect opportunity to introduce the local galleries to the international market, and further strengthen the image of Dubai as, not only a second-home for international artists, but a breeding ground for strong local talent.'
Besides the leading galleries from Paris, Rome, Milan, Moscow, Tokyo, Bangkok, Vienna, Brussels and Florence, there is a strong presence from local-based galleries at the Dubai International Fine Art and Antiques Fair that will spotlight the fast-growing art and antiques market in the UAE. Local-based galleries such as Folio Antiques, specialising in Islamic art, rare drawings and books; Gallery Interiors, specialising in Mexican art, Beaux Arts, showing contemporary art and Amal Star Antiques with a range of Asian antiques and works of art, will showcase the rich talent being nurtured in Dubai and the UAE.
The 4-day fair presents the chance for art and antique professionals to see, invest in and evaluate the market, helping to expand the collector market by reaching out to new collectors and art enthusiasts.
Visitors will discover more than 20,000 individual exhibits of the world's finest art and antiques on sale ranging from 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century art and antiques.
