Saudi Arabia's Sama begins regular charter flights to Abu Dhabi

Sama, the Saudi-based budget carrier, began on November 15 an international charter service to Abu Dhabi International Airport (ADIA).
Sama will operate seven flights a week linking Abu Dhabi with Riyadh and Dammam. Sama flies Boeing 737-300 aircraft which are maintained to the highest international standards by SR Technics.
Welcoming the Saudi carrier, Mohammed Al Katheeri, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) said passenger traffic between Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi has seen an impressive growth of 74% during the last 12 months, from 179,098 to 310,835. "Sama will add much needed new capacity to this route. This is a welcome development for us because it serves our strategy of catering to all categories of travelers through Abu Dhabi International Airport.," he added.
Andrew Cowen, CEO of Sama, said: "We are happy to help meet the growing traffic between Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi. Our low-fare services will appeal to a large sector of business and tourist travelers between Saudi Arabia and the UAE capital."
