Tabreed's Chahoud to spearhead International District Energy Association's Middle East operations

Chahoud will spearhead IDEA's Middle East operations in addition to her current responsibilities at Tabreed.

'The Middle East is one of the world's fastest growing markets for district cooling and is extremely important for us,' said IDEA's President Rob Thornton.

'Chahoud has been with Tabreed since its inception more than nine years ago. She is a thorough professional and has helped us successfully co-ordinate our last two events in the UAE. We are confident she will be an asset to IDEA and will be instrumental in representing the region at international industry events.'

IDEA recently staged a successful district cooling symposium in Dubai attended by more than 320 delegates from over 20 countries.

Chahoud, who will work out of IDEA's Dubai offices said, 'It is a great honour for me and I look forward to the challenge of promoting this environmentally-friendly and energy efficient technology in what is undoubtedly one of the largest markets for cooling services.
'Regional governments and major real estate developers have started realising the cost-effectiveness and reliability of using district cooling technology to meet the ever-increasing cooling demands due to rapid urbanisation.

'We need to highlight the other important advantages of the solution such as scalability and low maintenance charges.'

Chahoud is a summa cum laude Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Capella University in the US, with a specialisation in Marketing, and is fluent in three languages.
