A bonanza of creations, style, performance, and fun at the Dubai Motor Show

Thousands continue to pour into the Middle East International Motor Show 2007 and visitors to the event so far have certainly got more than their share of excitement.
General Motors, one of the key exhibitors at the show, has set the pace and got the crowds moving to their beat in the manner they know best.
There is a steel band including violinists and percussionists, with car accessories like alloy wheels and front defenders doubling up for musical instruments, which seems to be a huge hit with the crowd. Infiniti have added rhythm to the air with elegant violin-playing dancers whilst Seat has another crowd stealer, with their Spanish dancers ensuring that the crowd have a lot more than great cars to look at. Mitsubishi adds a unique twist to the gathering with two rope climbers that have the crowd enthralled and Nissan's rubber man with his flexible joints performs near impossible tricks like squeezing himself into a little box!
The Porsche Kids Driving School is enormously popular, with loads of kids lining up to get an early education in road safety behind the wheels of a classy Kids Porsche. Mercedes Benz gives people an opportunity to know how it feels in a Formula One racing, pit stop. A crew of five in pit stop gear give many cars a makeover with a window and wheel clean up, whilst a Mercedes sticker and a photo give the car owners two ways to remember the occasion by.
Visitors to the show are captivated by the popular West Coast Customs carrying out a live car makeover right in front of their eyes. The eminently recognisable Big Dane is present in person, and has been delighting his fans" We love Dubai, and the people here are amazing. The number of people at the show has been incredible, and there are two more days to go! We will definitely come back" said Big Dane.
Another first in the motor show is the cutting edge live car simulator by TAG Systems from Australia. They have designed an innovative and interactive driving experience, allowing one to drive a real car in real time, with real reactions inside a virtual world with full control using the steering, accelerator and brakes. One can drive the car in a wide selection of environments including world renowned race tracks, street circuits and even the moon!
And let's not forget the cars! The line up of dazzling cars is an absolute feast for the eyes, with some eternal classics sharing the stage with tomorrow's designs, creating a fascinating contrast.
"I came all the way from Bahrain to see the Shelby Ultimate Aero which is the fastest production car in the world. Not only did I see the dream machine, I also got to see many of the other fast cars in the world.
KTM, a first time participant at the show, is just one of many pleased exhibitors at the event. The KTM X-Bow car, being launched for the very first time in the Middle East, registered a sale of 10 cars by the end of the first day.
Furthermore they sold 25 units of the KTM 525 sports quads

A visibly happy KTM managing director Dr. Michael Landl said "We are very pleased to be at the Dubai Motor Show, it is much bigger than what we expected and we feel it is on par with the Geneva Motor show.
Future Motors a familiar and long time participant of the show announced a sale of over Dhs4.3m of their premium brands within the first day of the event. Their Signature Editions, which have been launched recently, has generated a lot of serious interest amongst. the motor enthusiasts.
German auto giants Audi held the regional premieres for the new Audi A8 Product Improvement as well as the Audi A4 and new Audi A4, which will come to the region in mid 2008.
Describing the show as crucial to their plans in the Middle East, Ernst Hasbach, Managing Director of Audi Middle East said "Our stand has grown to more than 1,000 sqm in size and the first days have brought huge crowds of interested visitors. Our R8 and the Q7 V12 TDI with 500 bhp have been real eye catchers for everyone".
The crowds also got a glimpse of some world launches on the first day, including the Mabach Landaulet 62 S, and the Tahoe Hybrid, a full size hybrid SUV.
The Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, will be the place to be up until Sunday 18th Nov. The show comes around once every two years so get there now and join in the excitment.
