DM records new achievement in its electronic transformation policy

The Technology Week of the Planning and Area Division of the municipality, which span from November 4 to 9, was another success story.
Commenting on the achievement, Engineer Hussein Nasir Lootah, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality said: "Dubai Municipality remains committed to putting into action the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, for a total switch to electronic system as quickly as possible. The directives gave birth to the "Technology Week" campaign launched by Dubai Municipality. The programme has achieved a lot of successes as more clients processed their transactions electronically to bring the rate of electronic transformation of the municipality to over 90%."
He added: "Dubai Municipality provides excellent online services to the general public. About 97% of the municipality's services can now be accessed online. We are working to make it 100% by the end of the year."
Engineer Abdullah Al Shebani, Dubai Municipality Assistant Director General for Technical Services, said the campaign launched by the municipality's Planning and Area Division from November 4 to 9 witnessed a very high patronage by clients. "The division electronically processed 841 transactions during the period. The week also witnessed a significant rise in the volume of payment made electronically to AED7,770. The figure represents an increase of 56% in such a transaction. Moreover, 376 new clients, including individuals and companies, were also recorded during the period, while 125 clients visited the municipality premises to process their transactions with 24 of them having been trained at the municipality premises on how to access online the services of the Planning and Area division," he explained.
He pointed out that since the launch of the programme on September 23, opinion poll carried on 781 clients shows that 92% of the respondents expressed great satisfaction with the online services. He said the campaign is continuing unabated. "The Rehabilitation Section of the Building Division will launch its 'Technology Week' from November 18 to 22. The campaign will be rounded-off by the Building Permit Section of the Building Division on December 9," he added.
By launching this programme, the Dubai Municipality aims at improving the quality of its services and unifying its criteria and finding quick solutions to problems to win the heart and mind of its growing clientele.
