Under the terms of the agreement, EMS will systematically evaluate Emirates Post's new and existing offices through an Energy Efficient Architecture (EEA) analysis, aimed at reducing energy usage and lowering costs. By incorporating the eco-friendly measures, Emirates Post offices will minimise environmental impact, protect the health of its occupants and utilise resources more effectively.
'As the national postal company, Emirates Post has a responsibility to establish high benchmarks of quality and service and this includes pioneering greater corporate responsibility for environmental management. Our alliance with EMS will ensure that we provide the highest standards of service available by becoming a certified and responsible organisation that focuses on saving water, electricity and costs,'
said Mr. Abdullah Al Daboos, Director General, Emirates Post.
EMS solutions are designed to improve air and water quality, reduce waste streams, conserve natural resources and promote energy efficiency by measuring and verifying energy system performance and ensuring a rigid compliance with regulations. This will be achieved through optimising system design, introducing energy control systems, analysing energy bills, managing utilities, optimising energy saving equipment and recommending alternative energy sources.
'By eventually becoming LEED certified, Emirates Post is endorsing our valuable initiatives and cementing its reputation as a pioneering government company. By incorporating these 'green' strategies, employees and customers of Emirates Post will benefit from a myriad of environmental, social and economic benefits,' said Khaled Bushnaq, CEO, EMS.
Additional services offered by EMS include Energy Value Analysis (EVA), renewable energy solutions, and energy saving equipment and water management techniques. For its innovative efforts, EMS recently received a special recognition award by the World Energy Congress in the United States and presently manages more than two hundred energy management projects throughout the Middle East.
