The DSF is participating in a stand for the first time this year as an independent exhibitor, enabling wider exposure for the event. The World Travel Market 2007 concludes on Thursday, November 15.
Representatives of the DSF Office at the stand, comprising of Laila Suhail, DSF Chief Strategy Officer; Khulood Al Thani, DSF Marketing Manager; Abdulla Amiri, DSF Senior Services and Operations Coordinator, and Haitham Al Bousaide, DSF Media Relations Coordinator, met with various travel and tour operators and discussed ways to enhance visitor arrivals to Dubai during DSF 2008. Volunteers at the stand also provided visitors with comprehensive information on DSF 2008 and Dubai Summer Surprises 2008.
Laila Suhail, the head of the DSF delegation at WTM said, 'The decision to organize an independent stand for the exhibition proved to be productive as we witnessed a huge interest in DSF 2008 in the initial two days. We received very positive feedback on the festivals and a majority of those who met us expressed their admiration at the organizing of an event of such magnitude.'
Laila also commented that the great response attracted by the stand was an indication of the popularity of DSF in the global travel and tourism market. 'We have received numerous enquiries and compliments about DSF in these two days and it goes to show the popularity of the festival as a direct result of Dubai's reputation as a leading tourist destination. Despite this popularity, we still believe there is more potential for DSF as an event to attract an even wider audience in the coming years,' she said.
Another attraction in the stand was the presence of Modhesh, the ever-smiling mascot of Dubai Summer Surprises. Curious visitors were seen clicking photographs with the cheerful mascot as he went about his routine meet and greet sessions, which in turn drew more attention and enquiries to the popular summer event.
DSF 2008 will be held between January 24 and February 24, 2007, providing visitors with 32 days of non-stop festivities. The theme of the coming edition, the 'Fifth Season', symbolizes DSF as a season of its own, a stand-out period of excitement characterized by shopping, winning, and family entertainment.
