The Barclays group, the world's largest independent hedge fund research company, ranked the Fund earlier this year as the 4th best Fund of Hedge Funds in the world, in terms of risk adjusted return, from a list of 647 funds.
The fund was also ranked by EurekaHedge among the top ten distressed fund of funds in terms of its annualized return, standard deviation, and Sharpe ratio.
Mr. Sameer Al-Gharaballi, Executive Vice President at Global, said the fund's reopening presents an excellent opportunity to invest in one of the best and highly ranked fund of hedge funds in the world.
Despite bearish market conditions this year, the fund generated an impressive return of 7% year to date bringing total returns to 86.50% since inception in October 2002. These returns were achieved with a low level of volatility.
This classification of universal recognition proves 'the skill of Global's Fund of Hedge Fund group in consistently selecting the best managers to invest with, and conducting a thorough due diligence process,' Al-Gharaballi noted.
The strong five year track record is proof that the fund has been able to achieve its objectives during various economic conditions and will capitalize on current and future weakness in the US market.
Al- Gharaballi confirmed that the fund presents an opportunity for investors seeking diversification from local markets with low risk, adding that Global may provide interested investors with loans on invested capital, as a show of confidence in the fund's stable performance.
With an attractive low minimum requirement, the fund is now open to new and existing investors who wish to diversify their portfolios. Subscriptions are accepted until 31st December 2007, he concluded.
Since 1999, Global's Fund of Hedge Fund offering has grown to six unique funds. Global provides diversified investment opportunities within the US, European, Japanese and broader Asian markets. Since inception, all funds have generated attractive returns, including 2006 where all funds were positive for the year.
