Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, CEO, Dubai Healthcare City, said,
"The global healthcare industry is closely monitoring the demand for healthcare services in the Middle East. According to a McKinsey report on Healthcare in the GCC, health-care spends in the region will reach $60bn in 2025, up from $12bn in 2006. This fact alone attracts global healthcare practitioners and medical services providers to make Middle East their new area of focus. Our participation in MEDICA underlined this focus yet again."
Business deals and opportunities came in from wide-reaching countries, and global centers. Professionals from the international healthcare scene showed their interest in joining DHCC's facilities and there were further discussions on international alliances towards business development and DHCC future projects.
In its participation, Dubai Healthcare City showcased all its existing components; Harvard Medical School Dubai Centre (HMSDC), Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research (DHFMR) and the Centre of Planning and Quality (CPQ).
Medica also provided the nine strong DHCC delegates to Germany an opportunity to understand the latest innovations in healthcare products; medical device technology and electro-medicine, laboratory technology and diagnostics and physiotherapy; innovations for medical imaging and IT developments in the field of "electronic patient records" and "medical data networks".
