The training contract was signed by Gary Chapman, Emirates' President Group Services & Dnata; Faris Deeb, Managing Director, Prestige Jet; and Jeff Roberts, Group President, Innovation & Civil Training & Services, CAE.
Gary Chapman said: 'I am pleased to welcome Prestige Jet to our facilities at Emirates-CAE Flight Training which has established itself as the training facility of choice for quite a number of business jet operators in the region.
'Prestige Jet's flight crew will be assured the highest standards of training with the best equipment available in comfortable and pleasant surroundings.'
Under the agreement, Prestige Jet's flight crew will undergo training using the Hawker 800/800XP and Gulfstream full-flight simulators, in addition to participating in classroom-based training.
Faris Deeb said: 'We are delighted to be among the first to obtain training slots at Emirates-CAE Flight Training. The facility will afford us greater flexibility in our training schedules and provide a cost-effective alternative to existing training programmes which require extensive travel and downtime for our aircraft, which, for a small but fast-growing airline like ours, is a critical factor. Moreover, we will be able to maintain our on-going training to the highest international standards for our crews right on our doorstep.
'Another major plus for Prestige Jet is that ECFT is also equipped to meet our aggressive fleet expansion programme over the next few years as it can provide training for a wide variety of aircraft types,' added Mr Deeb.
ECFT will also take the flight crew through courses such as Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP), in addition to flight simulation programmes.
'We're delighted to welcome Prestige Jet to the growing list of business jet operators training with ECFT, where they will enjoy a comprehensive training programme specifically tailored to their needs,' said Jeff Roberts. 'The Middle East is an important and growing market for aviation, and ECFT is well positioned to provide world-class training services to customers across this region.'
Earlier this year, ECFT ordered a new CAE 5000 Series Hawker Beechcraft Hawker 800 XPi and a CAE 7000 Series Bombardier Global Express full-flight simulator, both of which will be installed and commissioned by the second half of 2009.
The simulators will feature the CAE TrueTM Electric Motion System, as well as CAE's next-generation visual solution, including the new CAE Tropos TM 6000 visual system and Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) projectors.
The CAE 5000 Series full-flight simulator for the Hawker 800 XPi will be the first 5000 Series simulator designed and manufactured for that aircraft type. CAE launched the 5000 Series earlier this year.
