Tawam Hospital hosts first laboratory conference in Al Ain

This specialised conference attracted an audience of around 300 participants comprising healthcare managers, laboratory physicians, scientists, technologists, clinicians, nurses, medical students, and individuals interested in quality and risk management.

A host of internationally renowned keynote speakers from the USA, Holland and the UAE addressed the gathering and enlightened the audience about latest developments in the field of laboratory medicine.

The two-day conference presented internationally accepted standards in laboratory medicine and focused on requirements for the implementation of effective laboratory accreditation.

The keynote speakers at the conference included Professor Sharon Ehrmeyer, Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and, Director Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology Program at the University of Wisconsin Medical School; Dr. Derick Pasternak, MD, Joint Commission International Middle East Office, Dubai; Dr. Sherief Islam, Chairman, Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Tawam Hospital; Steven A. Matarelli, Chief Clinical Officer of Tawam Hospital, among others.
