Dubai Municipality's Technology Week campaign enters a new phase

Dubai Municipality (DM) continues with its innovative 'Technology Week' campaign which is gaining more popularity among its clients and the general public.
Commenting on the occasion, Engineer Hussein Nasir Lootah, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality said: "The 'Technology Week' campaign has produced amazing results since it was launched on September 23. About 40,000 transactions have been processed online since the launch of the programme which would last until December 13."
He added: "the campaign, which was launched by the Dubai Municipality in implementation of the Dubai strategy, has achieved unprecedented results in all the divisions that the programme was implemented. We expect the other divisions to also achieve great results when the programme reaches their turn."
He pointed out that by introducing the programme the DM aims at rapid and easy processing of transactions. "Dubai Municipality is a pacesetter in the provision of electronic services. We have achieved a lot of good results since we went electronic. Moreover, our electronic services are excellent and error-free," he said, and reiterated his outfit's commitment to come up with more innovative services for its clients.
Engineer Abdullah Al Shebani, Dubai Municipality Assistant Director General for Technical Services, said the campaign aims at implementing the eGovernment programme. "This week has been set aside for the Rehabilitation Section of the Building Division, following the great successes achieved in the previous weeks by the public health, environment, drainage, planning and area divisions," he said, adding that each division of the municipality has been allocated one week during which all transactions at the division will be processed electronically.
He pointed out that the idea of launching the "Technology Week" was brought by the task force of the Information Technology Section which operates within the framework of the municipality's development strategy.
He said the "Technology Week" of the Planning and Area Division, which was held from November 4 to 9, attracted a high patronage by clients, adding that the division processed 841 transactions during the period.
"That week also witnessed a significant rise in the ePayment transactions, which yielded AED7,770. The figure represents an increase of 56% in such a transaction. Moreover, 376 new clients, including individuals and companies, were also recorded during the period, while 125 clients visited the municipality premises to process their transactions with 24 of them having been trained at the municipality premises on how to access online the services of the Planning and Area division," he explained," he explained.
He pointed out that since the launch of the programme on September 23, opinion poll carried on 781 clients shows that 92% of the respondents expressed great satisfaction with the online services.
"By launching this programme, the Dubai Municipality aims at improving the quality of its services and unifying its criteria and finding quick solutions to problems to win the heart and mind of its growing clientele," he said.
