This month, Nescafe has teamed up with the National Training Institute to equip students with the necessary vocational skills to follow their career path and secure the job of their dreams.

Reaffirming Nescafe's close relationship with and commitment to Omani youth, the program offers 20 specially selected students the chance to learn how to write a professional CV as well as help to perfect their inexperienced interview techniques. The course was formulated to assist Omani graduates in maximizing their job-hunting experience, through effective communication of their educational skills and qualifications to prospective employers.

Furthermore, students are taught how to professionally present themselves during the interview process. Mr. Emile Douaihy, General Manager of Nestlé Oman Trading, said, "Once the initial approach has been made to any prospective employer and an interview secured, students need to know how to conduct themselves in a face to face scenario, making sure they tick all the boxes as well as stand out from the many other applicants the interviewer will be seeing that day." Often, students can be academically flawless but their vocational and "life" skills have been relatively untouched. By joining forces with the largest training institute in Oman, we have been able to offer final year students the opportunity to make their career dreams a reality and give them every chance to succeed in this increasingly competitive work place."

With this initiative, Nescafe , Nestlé's premier coffee brand, is making great efforts in bringing the world of business, closer to the youth of Oman, as well as adding value to the Omani community, as part of its on-going commitment to the local community.

Students attending the event have been chosen from The Sultan Qaboos University College of Education, Sultan Qaboos University College of Commerce, Sultan Qaboos University College of Law, Sultan Qaboos University College of Science, Gulf College, Middle East College, Fire and Safety Engineering College, Caledonian College of Engineering, The College of Banking and Finance and Waljat College.

Many of the college Deans have expressed their gratitude to Nestlé's for their forward thinking and taking a positive stand in supporting the young Omani community. They hope that the program can continue to grow on an annual basis, giving even more students a chance to develop their vocational skills. One counselor from a top university said, "I would like to thank you for giving the students this great opportunity to train in such an esteemed organization."

Mr. Lawrence Alva of National Training Institute said, "Graduates often fall at the first hurdle when looking for employment fresh out of university. The aim of our training program is to give these 20 students a major advantage when applying for jobs, over other students who haven't benefited from our knowledge and experience.

At the end of the 4-day training program, each student will be given a career kit, which summarizes their training, and gives them a reference guide to use over the next important months. The training will take place between the 11th and 14th November 2007.
