Strategic partnership between 'Greater Amman Municipality and Tejari to provide e-procurement and e-tendering services

Greater Amman Municipality and Tejari have announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement to provide a state-of-the-art e-procurement and e-tendering services exemplifying the partnership between public and private sectors.

The agreement was signed in Amman, Jordan, by H.E. Omar Maani, the Mayor of Amman and Tejari CEO, Mr. Omar Hijazi. The ceremony was attended by other dignitaries from Amman Municipality including representatives from Tejari, both in Dubai and Jordan.

"This signing will serve to aid Amman Municipality to better align our vision as becoming a leading force in e-business transactions, providing a more efficient and comprehensive service to the people of Amman," commented H.E. Omar Maani, the Mayor of Amman.

"Amman Municipality is committed to achieving sustainable growth through optimum use and development of human, financial, and technical resources, and knowledge-based management. We believe moving toward e-Procurement and e-Tendering in cooperation with Tejari will help to facilitate the achievement of these goals," continued Maani.

"I am pleased to announce this partnership with Amman Municipality, a move that signifies the Municipality's leadership in adopting global best practices in procurement. Tejari's on-demand technology and consulting services will facilitate a transparent and effective trading platform in Amman," said Omar Hijazi, CEO of Tejari.

"This agreement will help to streamline, provide more transparency, and speed up different transactions and this will definitely be for the benefit of vendors and investors, as well as the people of Amman," said Mutasem Hindawi, Tendering and Procurement Director at Amman Municipality. "The agreement will also help on different levels including e-procurement and e-tendering which will save time and effort and promote efficiency and accuracy of all related transactions".

Mr. Hindawi added, "These services will be provided gradually and through stages in coordination with our strategic partners. The main goal is to provide consulting services including data cleansing, spend analysis, vendor assessment, and commodity coding. Tejari Transact (e-Marketplace) will be used as an e-Procurement platform.

Furthermore, training and capacity building will be provided in different areas aiming to achieve GAM's Tendering and Procurement Directorate vision of attaining (a world-class integrated supply chain management)".

GAM is moving towards being one of the leading Municipalities in the region; this agreement will support their effort to fulfill their objective and become an e-Municipality by providing the best services and solutions, and enhancing the transparency and level of service provided to the public which will assist them in their aim of becoming the pioneers in e-commerce adoption.
