Sahia joins the firm from Dubai World where she was General Counsel.

Dubai World is a holding company that owns, manages and supervises a large part of the portfolio of businesses and projects for the Dubai Government including DP World, Nakheel and Istithmar. Prior to Dubai World, Sahia qualified as a Barrister in England and then was at Allen & Overy in Dubai for several years.

Sahia, a UAE National, brings a huge amount of experience in corporate, commercial, real estate, projects and finance, including Islamic finance, to RSRB's Dubai office which opened in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) in September 2006.

Sahia is the latest in a series of new appointments to the firm's UAE offices. In August the Abu Dhabi office recruited a team of 3 from Simmons & Simmons and since then 5 Associates have been appointed to either the Abu Dhabi or Dubai offices specialising in construction, finance and projects.

Sean Angle, Managing Partner, Reed Smith Richards Butler Dubai, said:

"Sahia brings a wealth of experience to our Middle East practice. We are already one of the oldest international legal practices in the UAE, having opened in Abu Dhabi in 1978, and we now have market leading teams in real estate development, construction, finance, projects and corporate commercial law in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

"In this market, a key to success is finding an edge for your firm. Sahia enhances our already excellent offering and helps to give us an edge that we don't believe any other international firm has. Through Sahia's substantial Dubai experience in her previous roles, we have a partner with an intimate knowledge of the Dubai market. We are delighted she is joining our Middle East Team."
