Marriott tees off for charity

The Marriott Business Council hosted its 4th Annual Spirit to Serve Charity Golf Tournament on November 2nd, 2007 at The Montgomerie, Dubai.

The proceeds, an estimated Dhs41,200 was donated to the Al Noor Training Centre for children with special needs.

The Parent / Child - 9 hole Par 3 tournament saw 37 teams of an adult and child play side by side in teams of two. Players competed in two categories; one score for children and one team score. The winner of the best team score was David van der Muelen and his son Chris. Aside from a trophy, they also won a week's test drive in the new Touareg GP, 2008 model sponsored by Volkswagen Middle East.

Other entertainment for all ages such as putting and target competitions, golf lessons and a bouncing castle were also available and the event culminated in a barbeque celebration in the early evening with a prize distribution ceremony declaring the winners of the tournament. Exciting prizes were on offer throughout the day including a raffle with the top prize being a flight with Emirates Airlines to Glasgow and a stay at the Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel which included a round of golf.
