Injazat Data Systems, one of the Middle East's leading Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies, has announced that ADTEK 2007: The 2nd Abu Dhabi IT Services Forum has concluded today (Tuesday, November 20), with the Forum's global participants applauding the event as one of the most comprehensive IT Services strategic networking platforms in the region.

Over 300 delegates participated in ADTEK 2007, which was held at the Hilton Hotel Abu Dhabi from November 18-20, 2007. The participants expressed their satisfaction over the insightful presentations depicting the general situation of the region's IT services market, particularly in the UAE, and exhaustively discussed the new trends and emerging business potential.

"ADTEK 2007 was very informative and extremely helpful to industry players wanting to optimise the impact of their marketing campaigns in the region. The speakers successfully articulated a comprehensive road map towards realising the vast potential of the regional IT services industry. The delegates were also greatly responsive to the concepts and ideas presented, and actively took advantage of the Forum's networking potential," said Ibrahim Mohamed Lari, CEO, Injazat Data Systems.

"The dynamism of the participants was a reflection of ADTEK's transformation into a major networking and benchmarking platform, stimulating increased business activity across all sectors of the IT services value chain. Injazat Data Systems has again achieved a groundbreaking success in organising the event this year, and we will leverage this momentum to create an even bigger impact in ADTEK 2008," added Lari.

Organised with the theme 'Aligning IT services with business goals', ADTEK 2007 gathered 14 of the most prominent IT personalities in the region as speakers and panellists, providing participants a rare look into the regional market from the point of view of the most successful global IT organisations.

"Network infrastructures are becoming more complex and this has strained company resources in terms of cost, productivity and efficiency. In the UAE, this situation has resulted in a large number of firms migrating to outsourcing facilities, contributing heavily to the outstanding growth of the IT services market, which expanded 22.7 per cent in 2006. Through initiatives like ADTEK, I believe the adoption rate of outsourcing across the region will further improve," said Margaret Adam, Senior Analyst IT Services MEA, IDC.

Adam, who was one of the speakers at the Forum, outlined the UAE's IT services market in her presentation, focusing on how managed services and outsourcing trends greatly contributed to the USD 507 million expenditure in IT services recorded in 2006.

"The direction of IT development has seen a progressive change as it has now become more people and business-oriented. This shift will pave the way to a more lasting and sustainable growth of the IT services market," said Basim Saleh, Practice Manager, Microsoft Consulting Services, who was also one of the speakers of ADTEK 2007.

ADTEK 2007 featured a combination of high-level presentations, panel discussions and workshops. It was supported by some of the biggest IT organisations, including platinum sponsors Dell and EMC, gold sponsors Cisco and Citrix, silver sponsors Sun and Itqan, and workshop sponsor Microsoft. The event was also powered by knowledge partners ITSMF, IDC and The Injazat Institute.
