DMC donates 65 units of blood

  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, November 21 - 2007 at 11:34
  • PRESS RELEASE

Dubai Men's College in cooperation with Al Wasl Hospital held a 'Blood Donation Day' on campus on November 19, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

There was a good response from among the students and staff. Students from the Environmental Health programs volunteered to help with the campaign by walking into a number of classrooms encouraging the fellow students to donate blood for a good cause.

The Al Wasl Hospital team collected 65 units of blood from DMC.

Many of the students were encouraged to know that they were making a big difference in the quality of life for the people of Dubai. They learned how the blood is used to save the lives of children from all walks of life, including UAE nationals suffering with a blood disorder called thalessaemia. This growing awareness of the students' ability to make a difference in their community is a major factor in their participation.
