About the Emirates Aviation College - Aerospace & Academic Studies
In the late 80s, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, envisioned Dubai as the aviation hub of the Middle East region. He directed a number of senior executives in the field to set about establishing a centre that would give young minds the skills and expertise to turn his vision into reality.
The college was opened in 1991 by the Department of Civil Aviation, offering a range of aviation-specific, vocational programmes for young people in the UAE and beyond. Since then, the curriculum has grown in line with the region's burgeoning aerospace industry, tourism industry and business in general.
Today, Dubai's aviation industry is flourishing and the college is firmly established as the source for skilled aviation professionals. Across the region you will find air traffic controllers, aircraft engineers, electronics engineers, flight dispatchers and tourism specialists who have graduated from the Emirates Aviation College - Aerospace & Academic Studies, and who continue to play significant roles in their fields within the aviation industry.
