Universal Children's Day is a recognised day to show an understanding between children. It is a day of activity devoted to promoting the ideals and objectives of welfare of children of the world. It has been voted that the Universal Children's Day is on 20th November each year to focus world attention on the 60,000 children dying per day, half under the age of five according to UNICEF and the 150 million orphaned children in the world.

The children were invited to play in Encounter Zone, which is an entertainment area in Wafi for children of different ages, followed by lunch and ice cream in the food court. Upon departure soft toys were distributed to all the children. The main objective of the event was to share happiness with handicapped children and incorporate with regular activities.

"We are very pleased to work with Dubai Handicapped Centre," said Victoria Smith, MKM Marketing Director.

"Seeing children play and laugh in Wafi means a lot, as we offer a range of facilities and take care of them whilst they are our guests. The main aim of this event is to raise awareness of the Universal Children's Day in Dubai."
