CGC officials attend project management training in Doha

Six senior officials of Consolidated Gulf Co. (CGC), the largest telecom and IT solution provider as well as the biggest retailer of mobile phones in Qatar, attended a five-day marathon training on project management techniques at Rydges Hotel in Doha recently.
Emphasising on the need for regular training, Anil Mahajan, Head - Business Development, CGC, said: "The training was a part of CGC efforts to keep its managerial and technical professionals fully equipped with the latest technology and new methods of managerial skills so as to deliver the best possible services to the customers in different business sectors."
Detailing on the training, Maneesh Vijaya, the trainer from PMPulse, stated, "The prestigious training on how to handle projects efficiently was based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) published by Project Management Institute (PMI) of USA. The training module was a very astute combination of world wide best practices in Project Management, as used in the US space agency, NASA, along with the real-world experiences to bring the true essence of project management to the participants.
There are 44 processes that make up the entire discipline of 'Project Management' and this training presented and discussed each of the processes in a manner that one would apply in the real life projects. These processes were walked through with real life examples brought to the session by the participants thus demonstrating the 'Before and After' effect of applying these processes on those real life examples," he added.
This hands-on and interactive training session focused on areas that enables professionals to deliver value to their customers and thus results for their organization.
The comprehensive training was intended to focus on developing ability to link corporate strategies to business objectives such as leadership qualities to inspire, motivate and manage team; understand, manage challenges and grow key business accounts; enhance the channel profitability through effective use of commercial techniques; Retain and win over new customers through effective negotiation process; techniques to manage customer relationship; identify and strengthen source of competitive advantage as well as to develop all round business skills required to fulfill the professionals' demanding role.
