Till the evening of November 20th, the event had attracted a total of 28,565 visitors.
Of the total visitor turnout during the first three days of the Fair, 9,833 were trade related visitors while the rest were from the general category.
On-site visitor registration figures for November 18th, 19th and 20th indicate that approximately 55% of the total trade visitors were from the GCC States. The highest number of trade visitors from the GCC region were registered from the UAE followed by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait.
Other Middle Eastern and African countries from which a significant number of trade visitors were registered at the Fair included Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria, Kenya, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Sudan, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, and Yemen.
Traders and businessmen from India, Pakistan, and China, also had an imposing presence at the venue during the first three days.
On the general visitor front, of the 18,732 visitors, a vast majority were from the UAE.
The CCFS is expected to witness a substantial surge in visitor numbers in the coming days.
The fifth edition of CCFS, which was held at Expo Centre Sharjah from November 25- 29, 2006, had attracted a total of 50,352 visitors.
The CCFS is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. The five-day event is being jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, and the SCCI, and organised by Chinamex and Expo Centre Sharjah.
The current edition of CCFS is hosting over 400 well-known companies from more than 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities of China.
Among the industries that are being represented at the exhibition are hardware and building materials, special vehicles, agri-food products, engineering machine and parts, and light industries.
Among the major exhibitors at CCFS 2007 are Beifang-Benze Automobile Company affiliated with China North Industry Group, Baotou Beifang Chuangye Co. Ltd, Shanxi Fenglei Machinery Manufacturing Co. Ltd, China North Chemical Industries Corporation, Astra Construction and Machinery Co. Ltd, Liu Gong Group Inc., Hebei Baoding Great Wall Automobile Holding Co. Ltd, Beijing Reward Group, Beijing Double-Crane Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd, Huaqi Information Digital Technology Co. Ltd, and Shanxi Minmetals Industrial & Trading Co. Ltd.
CCFS, in the last five editions combined, had hosted a total of 6,660 exhibitors representing 3,058 companies from across China. More than 230,000 visitors from 67 countries had visited these editions. The total trade generated by all the editions of CCFS held so far exceeds $1.869bn.
The sixth edition of CCFS will run till November 22nd. It is open from 10 am to 1 pm for trade only and from 5 pm to 9 pm for both trade and public. Children below 16 years are not allowed.
First three days of CCFS attract over 28,000 visitors
The sixth edition of the Chinese Commodities Fair Sharjah (CCFS), which opened at Expo Centre Sharjah on November 18th, has been attracting a steady stream of visitors, both trade and general, from across the Middle East and Africa region.
