ECSSR hosts 'Qualitative Research Methodologies' training course

Under the aegis and in the presence of H.H. Sheikha Mozah bint Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, a two-day specialized training course in 'Qualitative Research Methodologies' was held at the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) from 13-14 November, 2007.
H.H. Sheikha Mozah bint Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan expressed her sincere thanks to the lecturers for the invaluable information they provided during this specialized training course, and stressed her desire that similar events be organized to deal with subjects pertaining to scientific research methodologies.
She also thanked the attendees of the course for their contribution and praised the leading role that the ECSSR has taken since its inception in publishing valuable books, carrying out research and studies, and organizing various conferences, seminars, lectures and events.
The course dealt with a number of subjects and skills, and included: an introduction to the scientific bases for the presentation of research papers, starting from the criteria of subject choice; an introduction to methods of collection of information and data, whether through existing sources, surveys or opinion polls and interviews, pertaining to qualitative scientific research; and an overview of quantitative research and its importance in research papers.
The course was attended by female researchers from various government institutions in addition to a number of researchers from the ECSSR. The participants declared that they had benefited immensely from the course and stressed the importance of its subject and their willingness to take part in future similar events.
