CGC holds Blood Donation Camp in Doha

Consolidated Gulf Co. (CGC), the biggest retailer of mobile phones as well as the largest Telecom and IT solution provider in Qatar, organized a Blood Donation Camp at its Project Office premises in Doha recently.

CGC held the programme in association with the Blood Donation Unit of Hamad Hospital as a part of the drive to fulfill its social responsibility. A large number of staff from Telecom, IT, Tetra, Enterprise Solution and Nokia Divisions of the company turned up to donate their blood for a great noble cause. There was enthusiastic participation from women staff as well for the humanitarian work. The CGC donors included several expatriates from different nationalities.

Thanking the Hamad Hospital for support, Anil Mahajan, Head - Business Development, CGC, expressed satisfaction over the response from the staff members to the social event. "As a responsible company, CGC has been organizing various activities and contributing to various causes under its Social Responsibility Programme to fulfill our duty towards society. People should always support noble causes such as blood donation, especially when there is a tremendous demand for blood in Qatar's hospitals due to accidents and other reasons. It's a yeoman service to the humanity. The support extended by CGC and other corporate houses to such events of social significance helps in encouraging others to come forward and join hands for such great causes", he added.
