Presenting a case study on 'Positioning Dubai as the Middle East's multimodal logistics hub' Michael Proffitt, CEO, DLC said: "With globalisation, companies set up operations in as many countries as possible thus creating logistics requirements to integrate their local subsidiaries.
"Dubai's geographic position enables it to have a footprint across a consumer market of two billion people in the CIS, Africa, East Europe and the Indian sub-continent - a proposition few CEO's would dare to ignore when it comes to global supply chain management.
"Dubai Logistics City's unique multi modal platform will enable companies to ride on its success, using its comprehensive logistics infrastructure and the sea-air approach to reduce it supply chain link and thus reduce costs."
The summit, organised by Naseba - the leading business information company listed on the Paris Stock Exchange, provided chairmen and CEOs an opportunity to meet with extensively prequalified logistics and supply chain executives.
DLC has over 150 companies signed up having reserved over 400,000 square metres of land and the project is on schedule to be fully operational by mid-2009.
