A survey of passengers during the event found that 90 per cent feel safer in an SUV.
"Safety is clearly a very important factor when Dubai residents decide which vehicle to own and drive," said Mazen Fayyad SUV brand manager in Arabian Automobiles.
"The survey demonstrates explicitly just how much being in an SUV contributes to occupants' sense of security."
The test drive covered a large range of SUVs - Nissan Pathfinder, Armada, Qashqai and Murano, as well as the newly-launched Nissan Xterra.
"Outstanding safety features are built into every Nissan SUV - whether long-established models or recent entrants - and this a major selling point that makes a significant contribution to our consistent growth in sales volumes and market share," commented Mazen.
"We are grateful to all Meadows resident who took part in the test drive and for giving us their valued opinions on road safety and the security they associate with driving or being a passenger in a Nissan SUV."
