Oil closes on $98.2

Crude oil futures hit a record closing price in New York yesterday, reaching $98.2 a barrel, a gain of 0.9%, on the New York Mercantile Exchange, reported Bloomberg. Oil had broken through the $99 barrier in intraday trading on November 21 with concerns over stockpiles growing as the northern hemisphere winter sets in. London Brent for January delivery closed on $95.8 a barrel.
