Danube undertakes Dhs1.2m contract to supply 'Formica' toilet cubicles to Dubai Mall
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, November 24 - 2007 at 13:34
- PRESS RELEASE
Danube Building Materials, a leader in construction, building materials, and shop fitting industry, has announced that it has signed a Dhs1.2m contract to supply 'Formica' toilet cubicles to the Dubai Mall project, which is set to become one of the world's largest shopping centres upon its completion by the end of 2008.
The Dubai Mall contract ranks as one of the largest projects undertaken by Danube and will entail the delivery of 500 Formica toilet cubicles using 13 and 18-millimeter thick anti-scratch compact laminates in crest walnut colour. The contract follows the launch of a complete line of bath solutions by Danube earlier this year, which has been received positively and is currently being used in various major projects in the country including Dubai Investment Park and Discovery Gardens.
Further, the company expects a similar response to the range of products it will be showcasing at 'The Big 5', which will further augment its aims of expanding its roster of high-profile clients, including contractors such as ANC, Al Hammad Contractors, Beacon Contracting, and Bou Hamad Construction.
"Danube's involvement in the construction of another significant landmark in Dubai is a great step towards reinforcing our reputation as the number one choice for leading developers and contractors across the region. Our continuous efforts to expand the available choices for developers speak volumes of our dedication to provide our customers with innovative products, which brings the standard of quality in construction and building materials to greater heights. Moreover, our success in acquiring the Dubai Mall contract is reflective of our capacity to deliver top-of-the-line solutions and our potential to gain more high-profile projects from leading developers," said Rizwan Sajan, Chairman, Danube Building Materials.
The Formica toilet cubicle is made up of a thick, moisture resistant and beautifully designed phenolic core compact laminate, which is complemented by highly durable and fashionable accessories to address the functional and aesthetic requirements of commercial buildings, shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, educational facilities and airports. In addition to supplying Formica compact laminates to its clients, Danube also offers installation of toilet cubicles and its accessories in accordance with the architectural drawings.
'The Big 5' exhibition is the largest annual meeting for the Middle East construction and contracting industry that gathers a large number of engineers, architects, specifiers, contractors, key buyers and decision-makers from the public and private sectors. In addition to highlighting its toilet cubicles, the company's participation will also feature sanitary novelties in its stand, which will be constructed using only materials from Danube's extensive product range. Danube's participation in the previous edition of the show was highlighted by its industry leading fire rated products, which had generated outstanding feedback and led to excellent sales results.
"The Danube brand has been consistently associated with breakthrough construction materials solutions as a result of years of providing our customers with the widest range of high quality products such as gypsum ceilings, floorings and bath solutions. Our expansion activities extending from Rhas Al Khaimah to Qatar has led to a wider reach for our offerings, which we intend to highlight in our participation at 'The Big 5' show. Furthermore, our constant presence in the event is motivated by our goal to leverage the current boom in the construction sector by further strengthening our standing as a trend setter in the building materials industry," concluded Sajan.
Danube is one of the largest building suppliers in the UAE and the region with an extensive portfolio of over 10,000 products ranging from MDF, plywood, timber, laminates, veneers to sanitary fittings, hardware, ironmongery, steel, aluminum and glass among others. In 2004, the company began its operations in Jebel Ali with a 19,000 sq. m. warehouse cum office, which serves as its regional hub and caters to booming markets in UAE, Oman, Bahrain and India.
