The conference was organized by Etisalat University College (EUC) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and is held at the Park Hyatt from 25-27 of November.
The opening was attended by Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hamadi, Manager, EUC / Honorary Chair of ICSPC, Dr. Mohammed Al-Mualla, General Chair of ICSPC and Post Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Coordinator at EUC, and Essa Al Bastaki, Chairman of the IEEE UAE section.
Over 350 expert and engineers specialized in the field of communication technology will participate in the conference representing 69 countries around the world. They will discuss 396 researched studies regarding the treatment of signal processing and communications.
During the opening of the conference, Dr. Mohammed Al-Mualla, General Chair of ICSPC, and Post Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Coordinator at EUC, said: 'I would like to firstly thank HH Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for being the patron of this conference which also reflects the UAE's support of the science and technology fields. I am very proud that the UAE is the first to inaugurate this conference. This reinforces the leadership of the country in the technology and communication fields in the Middle East.'
Dr. Mohammed Al-Mualla said: 'The importance of this conference has attracted a huge number of experts and specialists in the communication and signal processing industries who will discuss their thoughts on the improvement of scientific research in this field.'
Al-Mualla added: 'I would like to finally dedicate a special thank you to the institutions and companies that contributed generously towards the conference especially EUC, IEEE, Etisalat, TRA, Dubai Telecom Oasis Authority, and British Computer Society.'
Essa Al Bastaki, Chairman of the IEEE UAE section, said: 'The ICSPC aims to open opportunities for experts to discuss tools of contributing to the development of research in this field. It also helps support academic research, achieve results, and develop cooperation. We are glad to partner with EUC in organizing this event. EUC is well known for the high quality engineering eduction that it offers and for organizing and supporting various initiatives in the engineering field that benefit the community.'
The conference covers many topics including Digital Signal Processing, DSP Implementation and Embedded Systems, Audio/Speech Processing and Coding, Watermarking and Information Hiding, Multimedia Communications, Sensor Array and Multi-channel Processing, Time-Frequency/Time-Scale Analysis, Parallel and Distributed Processing, Internet Signal Processing, Modulation and Channel Coding, and Mobile and Wireless Communications.
International conference on Signal Processing and Communications 2007 starts today
The inaugural International Conference on Signal Processing and Communications (ICSPC) held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, was launched today.
