Through an online service delivered by AEC Online you have this year access to detailed information about the large number of exhibitors at the Big 5 Exhibition from your own computer.

You can browse through the alphabetic list of exhibitors, access their company presentations and contact details, and even post a request for more information about their products and services through Internet.

"The Big 5 Exhibition is the largest and most important building and construction event in the region and we are very pleased with the new service that we now can deliver in cooperation with the organizers of the event", says Per Gogstad, Professional Services Director of Tecnoserve FZ-LLC, operators of the AEC Online portal.

"Most of the more than 2,000 exhibitors are presented on AEC Online with a company introduction, plus search keywords and classification of products and services delivered. With this information in place they also become an integrated part of the AEC Online supplier database where you in a fast and efficient way can search for products and services. This information will also be available after the Big 5 Exhibition has closed for the year", Gogstad continues.

AEC Online is more than a normal directory. It distributes product information, brochures, catalogues and technical information in a fast and cost efficient way to real estate developers, architects, consultants and contractors.

AEC Online is part of the world's largest building products information network covering countries in Europe, North America, Middle East and Asia. The network has more than 200,000 companies and 250,000 product details, including product information with photos, brochures, catalogues, specifications and drawings for download.

"The whole idea behind the service is that updated product information, brochures, catalogues and technical details should be readily available for consultants, contractors and other users of this type of information. The information also has to be presented in an intuitive and easy accessible way", Gogstad points out.

"First of all, with AEC Online you have faster access to information compared to today's printed material. It is also faster than the time it takes to search through a large number of company websites, all differently organized and many times also having an annoying flash presentation at the beginning that you have to struggle yourself through before you maybe find the information you are looking for.

In addition, you also reduce the amount of paper used for printing of brochures and catalogues, many of them just left in a corner after a visit to an exhibition and never being looked at, and the effort used for transportation and distribution. Hence, it is more environmentally friendly."

Since the start of the operation last year, AEC Online has seen a sharp increase in both the number of companies presented on the portal, and the number of visitors and downloaded information.

"One client joining AEC Online about five months back has so far had around 2,500 of their brochures downloaded through the portal. Think how much this would have cost them in printing and distribution only", Gogstad says.

AEC Online also has its own 'news section' and electronic newsletter. The newsletter, AEC News, is regularly distributed to subscribers in the real estate, building and construction industry.

About AEC Online
AEC Online is a part of the AECinfo network that in addition to the Middle East covers sixteen countries in Europe, North America and Asia. The network was created by the Swiss-based Docu Group in 2002 and has since then seen a steady growth in geographical coverage and content, through acquisitions and partnerships. The sites are visited by over 1 million visitors a month and consist of more than 200,000 companies with 250,000 product details, brochures, specifications and drawings.

Through AEC Online, architects, contractors and developers can easily access company and product information. Brochures, specifications and CAD details are available for download. The portal's automated Request for Information (RFI) system enables users to request product clarifications, printed material, offers etc. from one or multiple companies in a simple operation.

AEC Online is the Middle East portal of the AECinfo network. It is operated by Tecnoserve FZ-LLC, a specialised solution provider for the building and construction industry. Tecnoserve has teamed up with a number of local and international companies to provide applications and services needed by the region's striving construction industry.
