"Hind wants to know how butterflies fly. Her teacher finds a website about insect aerodynamics that Hind reads on her tablet PC, and a future zoologist is born." This story, and others that represent typical Qataris experiencing "the promise of e," are the focus of a new advertising campaign being launched this month by the Supreme Council of Information and Technology (ictQATAR).

The campaign aims to appeal to all ages, and shows the opportunities for enlightenment, entrepreneurial thinking and greater efficiencies.

"e stands for the promise of information and communication technology. It embraces the notion of equitable access to digital knowledge and endless new possibilities for human enrichment," said a source at the Communications Office of ictQATAR. "At ictQATAR, we are working to make Qatar a truly networked nation and help it realize the promise of 'e.' This campaign will help people understand what this promise means and the power it has to improve their lives."

The "promise of e" ads will first begin appearing on November 26, 2007 in print publications throughout the country. The campaign may later be expanded to online, broadcasting services.
